 RS FOR JOINING US THIS YEAR!\nThe Epilepsy Foundation of Northern Californ
 ia’s Coelho Epilepsy Youth Summer Camp gives its young participants an u
 nforgettable experience. For one week kids ages 9-17 get together to enjoy
  the great outdoors and the friendships that come with a trip to camp – 
 but also leave behind some of the challenges that epilepsy can bring to th
 eir daily lives. Surrounded – some for the first time – by dozens of o
 ther kids who know exactly what having epilepsy means\, they need not worr
 y about what people might think if they have a seizure because they’ll b
 e supported around the clock by physicians and nurses specialized in epile
 psy care.\n\nCoelho Epilepsy Youth Summer Camp provides an enjoyable resid
 ential camping experience for children with epilepsy\, develops self-estee
 m by promoting self-confidence\, builds lasting friendships\, and fosters 
 independence in a fun and safe environment away from home. Parents are com
 forted knowing that medical professionals (UCSF pediatric epileptologist\,
  PA\, NP\, and nurses all stay overnight at the camp with campers througho
 ut the entire week\, both day and night). Medication schedules are strictl
 y controlled by nurses who ensure campers receive their proper medication 
 each day.\n\nTransportation is not included. All parents are responsible f
 or transportation to and from camp. Campers usually check in early afterno
 on on the first day and depart around late morning on the last day.\n\nThr
 ough generous donations\, the foundation is able to offer full and partial
  scholarships to campers. We strive to ensure that all interested campers 
 are able to attend and have never turned down a child due to financial nee
