Join us for a book talk and experience with epilepsy advocate, award-winning writer, and speaker Kelly Cervantes!
Kelly is best known for her blog Inchstones, where she shared the stress, love, and joy that came with parenting her medically complex daughter, Adelaide. Since Adelaide’s passing, just five days shy of her fourth birthday in October of 2019, Kelly has continued to write candidly about her arduous and, at times, contradictory grief journey.
Her debut book, Normal Broken: The Grief Companion for When it’s Time to Heal But You’re Not Sure You Want to, is a USA Today Bestseller. She has been published in the Chicago Tribune, the Chicago Sun-Times, and Cosmopolitan, and quoted in the New York Times, CNN, and People. She is the former board chair for the nonprofit CURE Epilepsy and also hosts their podcast, Seizing Life, where she interviews scientists, doctors, and individuals affected by epilepsy.
Kelly currently resides in Maplewood, NJ, with her husband, Miguel Cervantes who starred in Hamilton on Broadway, their children and two dogs.
*This discussion will include a child’s death from neurodegenerative epilepsy.
Hosted by Karen Valentine, Epilepsy Advocate and EFNC Volunteer
